2016 was hard on a lot of us, for me and my family the second half of 2016 was extremely hard...
Me and my wife have 3 great kids, one of whom, Caitlin ,is severely disabled with Cerebral palsy, epilepsy and scoliosis.
During the later part of 2016, Caitlin had a routine operation to release her Achilles tendon and her hamstrings, on both legs, while that surgery went well, her recovery did not, almost immediately getting pneumonia and spending a while in intensive care as part of a long in and out of hospital stay. this is why I seemed to drop off the radar in regards to social media and blog posts.
This year Caitlin will be having tests and appointments starting shortly to determine when she would be suitable to have spinal correction surgery to help with her scoliosis. as this will be a long and drawn out process as well as the surgery itself requiring a long recovery time, which is expected to be this year at some point also.
I have decided that I need to step back a bit from Gaskin photography, while all this is going on. not entirely, but with some services that are more time consuming.
Predominately weddings, so I shall not be taking on any new wedding work, for the rest of 2017 and possibly 2018 (operation timetable pending) also while I still advertise events, again, these I can't book much in advance, for the same reason as the wedding work. I shall be more focusing on portraiture and corporate during this time instead.
All bookings that are currently in place will still be undertaken with the highest level of quality and professionalism that Gaskin Photography currently offers.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all my wedding clients for their custom and continued support.
