I had this blog post planned for later in the year, but with a blog post on Brides.com that has caused quite a stir in the wedding vendor world, hitting social media at the minute I thought I would post this now to share our view on this topic.
The blog post itself has since been removed after the backlash it received by vendors in the wedding industry which you can see here
Now there isn't any right or wrong decision when it comes to feeding the vendors at your wedding, it is considered good wedding etiquette to do so, especially as a lot of your vendors will have been there all day with you, but, it is your wedding, your money and your choice. however, this is a question you should raise and agree with your vendor before hand to avoid confusion on the day (a lot of vendors will have it in their terms and conditions that you have to provide a meal and drinks every so many hours etc.)
Personally we don't have it included in our Terms and conditions. we will have brought with us nibbles or something to keep us going during the day and we will get ourselves soft drinks during the evening. The reason we don't demand it, is because most venues have a maximum capacity for the wedding breakfast and if you have to feed us, essentially we are taking a table place a guest should have.
That being said our past clients to date have all supplied a meal (as well as telling us to help ourselves at the afternoon buffet too) as a courtesy, some at the tables with the rest of the guests and most as a plate for us to eat behind the scenes, the latter being better for us to be honest, as during the meal most don't want their photo taken munching on their food, as photographers, we take utilise this time to back up the memory cards to the laptop, check over out kit, replace batteries, etc and primarily get ready for next part of the day.
